Applications: MOLBENZ® MHB is used in animal feed as a preservative to help control mold, yeast and certain bacterial growth. It is incorporated into feed formulations, including compound feeds, concentrates, mineral and vitamin premixes and liquid feed supplements, to support microbial stability and reduce spoilage during storage and handling.

1 Description It occurs as small, colorless crystals or as a white, crystalline powder.
2 Identification

3 Solubility It is one-gram dissolves in about 400 mL of water at 25°, in about 50 mL of water at 80°, in about 2.5 mL of alcohol, in about 7 mL of ether and in about 4 mL of propylene glycol. It is slightly soluble in glycerin and in fixed oils.
4 Melting Point Between 125° and 128°.
5 Acidity Specified Test.
6 Lead Not more than 2 mg/kg.
7 Loss on drying Not more than 0.5%.
8 Residue on ignition Not more than 0.05%.
9 Assay Not less than 99.0% and not more than 100.5% of C8H8O3 calculated on the dried basis.

PACKAGING

MOLBENZ® MHB is packed in HDPE Bag or HDPE Drum Packing with double PE Liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserved in well-closed containers.
